Creative

I am a creative writer who likes to explore many genres beyond journalism. My current creative writing projects include playwriting, screenplays, fiction, and poetry.

My play “The Reading Circle” was produced as part of the 2019 New Ideas Festival at the Alumnae Theatre in Toronto. In 2006, an earlier version of the play won the Canadian National One-Act Playwriting Competition.

I published a book of poetry, The Days You’ve Spent (Tightrope Books, 2010).

My creative writing has been published in The Danforth Review, the Literary Review of Canada, Qwerty, Pagitica, the Hart House Review, The Trinity Review and the Desperately Seeking Susans and In the Dark: Stories from the Supernatural anthologies.

I’ve been a reader at the Art Bar and Tree reading series, and I’ve been awarded several Ontario Arts Council recommender grants. I volunteered on national boards for Editors Canada and the former Professional Writers Association of Canada. In the literary community, I’ve been a board member for the Rowers Reading Series, volunteered with Alumnae Theatre, and currently volunteer with the Aron Theatre in my local community.
