Ghostwriting

Alongside creating bylined stories, I also work as a ghostwriter. Of course, you’ll never guess it’s me penning an author’s words. Not only because there’s another name attached, but because I also use their voice. I interview “my author” to learn their way of speaking, in addition to absorbing their fantastic subject matter expertise, and then create documents that seem to have flowed from their pen. My extensive background research means that I also save them a ton of time while adding even more depth to their ideas.

That’s right: your expert knowledge + my writing skills = your first (or next) book.

My own skills as a ghostwriter grew when I earned a PhD in English from the University of Ottawa. My dissertation on nineteenth-century Canadian magazines taught me how to organize a 300+ page document and pull together information from archives, microfiche and databases.

In 2020, a C-suite executive hired me to write a book that would tell the story of their company’s history and complex product.

Now I offer ghostwriting services that specialize in telling the story of organizations. A CEO’s journey,  the history of a company’s growth and expansion through their archives and interviews: whatever the project, clients hire me to apply both my expertise in organizing big projects and my story sense from 20+ years in journalism to bring complex stories to life.
