Speaking and Training
As a professional writer for 20+ years and a professor of writing since 2008, I am an experienced speaker and trainer. A professor at Humber College since 2013, I teach in the postgraduate Professional Writing and Communications graduate certificate, which I helped develop and launch in 2015.
I regularly lecture about core writing skills. These include idea generation, storytelling principles, writing and outlining process and interviewing. I also teach various forms, such as articles, blog posts, infographics and content strategy topics (audience development, repurposing content).
I am available for speaking engagements at conferences in person or virtually, as well as podcast spots. I also provide writing training to groups in corporate as well as non-profit.
